I'm a big boy now
A long time ago, in sillier times, back when this blog was written by a certain eyelash mite named Pepino, I had a little run in with an evil doll.
We all know how that ended...
But those days are well behind us, and since then we've all done a lot of growing up. For starters, now I write my own blog enteries like a big boy, instead of letting a microscopic bug do it for me. I've also learned how to forgive and forget, and to that end the Evil Doll, who survived that terrible fall, is now my friend.
Here she is enjoying Foop! for the 289th time.
She just sits on my bed, day and night, never sleeping, never blinking, reading my book over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. Every now and then she'll giggle to herself, but that's about it.
Come to think of it, that's some creepy shit right there. Maybe dolly is overdue for a swift knife across the throat.
Speaking of reading...
Next Tuesday, March 28th, for one night only, I'm going to stop talking to myself and instead talk to a whole audience full of people at the Ritalin Reading Series in NYC. It's a monthly reading series featuring "a variety of humor writers, funny bloggers and comedians reading for just four minutes each." It's at Mo Pitkin's House of Satisfaction in the East Village at 8:30pm. Check out the Ritalin website for more details, and come on out to hear my beautiful voice read something that'll inevitably be quite dumb.
Please note: I will NOT be wearing the goddamn bear suit at the reading, so stop asking.

dan, i am not a dancing bear here to entertain through cheap gimmicks. i will wear a nice normal outfit to the reading: polo shirt, brown shoes, and assless leather pants.
jenitron, the doll is NOT supposed to pee. but oh my does she ever. there's a river (that i like to call the Golden River) that runs through my apartment, and it ain't water that's flowing down it.
christa, you're going to have to break down and get your own. because there's no way in hell i'm touching that doll's copy. she'll bite my hand off and then eat my eyeballs like hardboiled eggs for sure.

Posted by: nola at March 25, 2006 01:51 AMnola, the evil doll made me get her copy laminated. at first i was like "no way, doll. it's not a 4th grade workbook, and this isn't catholic school." but then she started screaming "laminate! laminante! laminate!" over and over, for about 2 days nonstop. so i caved.
as for the audio version, there's this thing called laziness that i partake in every now and then. in regards to the book on tape, i've been indulging in it quite a bit. actually, i decided to focus my energy like a laser beam on finishing my second book. so the fun with audio got pushed back.
